How do you get to the bottom of this level?

An awesome level, brought back to life. The only problem, is that even on the 1964 0.8.5 overclocked to run at 60dl/s, it takes about 3 seconds to load (Yea, I'm impatient), and runs about 25-30 dl/s. And its not a particulary large level, meaning there is something degrading performance there
