This is a full conversion of the level Dam

My best times: (without a n64 controller)
Agent: 1:59
Secret Agent: 2:04
00 Agent: 2:17

How to play:

Apply the patch with the GE setup editor. Select Dam as the map. Then start it.


Use Glide64 video plugin for the best results. Jabo's and others will work but sky and sunstreaks wont appear correctly, which totaly ruins the visual experience.

Known Issues:

Many textures have incorrect U/V's. After painstakingly fixing over 50 of the more important U/v's by hex editor, I figured I'd just stretch the rest out.

Any mountain face that slants inward has a good chance you can slightly walk through it. Im not fixing every little clip tile. Faulty clip tiles allowing you to leave them altogether have been fixed (so i think) and im going to leave it at that.

some rooms dont line up perfectly. so what.

Hostage/Agent is pretty stupid and do to some path bug on occasion he will run to the sample room and run in circles. As long as you save him and he stays alive you can complete the mission.

probably much more but it will play from front to back, and thats all i care about at this point

Additional stuff:

1/2 the map done in hammer: +6600 polys
full map in XSI: -2700 polys
full map with light cuts: 3113 polys

So what shouldve taken 2 weekends has now been a month and a half. Made the map in one day in hammer. Spent a day taking away more than half the polys in XSI. Clipping and portal work in a couple hours. Add on redoin the clipping another 2 times due to corrupting it. And after splitting into more rooms, redoing portals and relinking clip tiles to rooms. At this point the setup file was complete but.. ya u guessed it. totaly corrupted that and started from scratch. So at this point i started doing backups. But still it was the pattern of 2 steps forward and 1 step back. I could go on about the headaches making this but its time for me to send it out and take a much needed break away from the computer. Oh, and if you are ever bored and you are sick of watching grass grow and paint dry. let me introduce you to shadowing vertices one by one.

There is an xDelta tutorial in videos. But: Install GoldenEye Setup Editor v3. In main menu - Tools -> XDelta Patching -> Apply GoldenEye XDelta Patch. Now pick clean GE ROM, then the patch in here, then the output ROM name (not same as original name).

Hello, I would really like to play the level but I have no knowledge of how to do it. Is it supposed to be with emulator or something? What do i need to download? I would appreciate it if someone answers D:

Good level, but, i want to made a backup compatible rom to stop the slowdowns in some parts of the level, anyone can explain me how to do it?

Very nice work although for some reason when I go down this one hallway I try to open the door and the game freezes.

xdelta is a newer and better from of pacth that the GE Setup Editor now supports.Grab a new version if yours doesnt have it. The option to apply should be right below the old ips option under tools.Hope that helps.

yoo, make sure you have DirectX 9.0c or higher and the Visual Redist 2008. And check the FAQ for more details

When i try to start the visual editor it says that some file is missing.. sr don't have any name on it XD i saw it the first time but now i don't see it something gd3d somethin'

Jack, First you need the Goldeneye Setup Editor. Then Direct X 9.0c or higher and Visual Redist 2008 Just search them up on Google and make sure you go to the Microsoft Website for those two. Then you'll need either Valve Hammer Editor, XSI Mod Tool or DeleD to create custom levels from your brain and not off the game itself.

hmmm... ya a deathmatch would be interesting. not sure how it would flow. Erased over the files accidentaly but i know i have many backups. Probably would just lock the door leading to the beach. Anybody up for making a conversion? Ill try and dig up the source files if anybody wants to do it.

And speedruntrainer, im looking forward to see a speed run of it. Im curious to see how you exploit the map. The way i see it, the same time could be achieved from agent to 00 agent. It would just require some nice remote mine throws

I think you mean doofus, as Duffus is a village in Moray, Scotland. But your post really defines the term, so we know what you meant. As for playing it... Yes you are going to need a copy of the GE rom and a working emulator. As well as the GE editor you can get on this site. Under 'tools' you will find the apply xdelta patch. The rest should be fairly easy. Oh... almost forgot. That little light on your keyboard indicates your caps-lock being on. Just to let you know.

what needs to be done to get this to work? do I need to download a emualtor such as PJ64? if I do. do I need to get the rom? What are the requirement for hardware spec on a PC.... sorry i am new to this.

Wow, looks cool but how do I apply a .xdelta patch? there is no ips patch in the zip file. I never heard of a .xdelta file _ WANT TO PLAY THIS LEVEL.
